2014 Yom HaShoah
Beth El Congregation was the setting for the 2014 Yom HaShoah Commemoration where over 800 guests filled the sanctuary. Channel 12 News anchor Mark Curtis was the keynote speaker. The prestigious Shofar Zahor awards were given to Bob Sutz for his "We Remember" art project and Steve Tepper director of the East Valley JCC for the Railcar Restoration Project. Around 50 survivors and their families participated in the candle processional. Candles were lit in memory of the 6 Million Jewish men, women and children who perished in the Holocaust or Shoah.
2013 Yom HaShoah
The 2013 Yom HaShoah Commemoration was held on Sunday, April 7 at Temple Solel. Nearly 80 survivors walked into the social hall carrying yellow candles in front of 600 guests.
