About PHSA

The Phoenix Holocaust Survivors' Association was founded to facilitate and promote education of the circumstances and events which led to and were part of and followed the persecution, torture, murder and genocide perpetuated by the Nazis and their accomplices referred to as the Holocaust.

The Phoenix Holocaust Survivors' Association has facilitated the documenting of the Holocaust experiences of survivors in our community and led our community in remembrance of the Holocaust as as part of a long history of active involvement in both the local and national Holocaust education and remembrance organizations.

The Phoenix Holocaust Survivors' Association continues pursuing our mission today through a number of activities including:
  • Facilitating monthly Café Europa Holocaust Survivor community gatherings
  • Recognizing important contributions to teaching of the Holocaust and Genocide Awareness through its Shofar Zachor Awards.
  • Coordinating the annual Yom HaShoah Commemoration
    (Photos from 2014, 2013 and 2012 events)
  • Sponsoring a variety of educational programs including Holocaust Awareness Week
  • Providing speakers to the community
(To request a speaker - email [email protected] or call 602-788-7003)

The Phoenix Holocaust Survivors' Association members include Jewish survivors of the Holocaust, 2nd Generation and 3rd Generation survivors, as well as individuals who are not survivors or their descendants but who support the purposes of the Corporation.
